The TRACE project consortium consists of 16 partners from 8 different EU countries (Czech Republic,
France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom), as well as a number of subcontractors and observers.
In addition to their excellence in the various fields of expertise required by the project, the partners and subcontractors also fulfil other important criteria.
Because the project aims to give an insight into traffic accident causation at a pan-European level, a wide geographical distribution was necessary.
- Central Europe is represented by Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom
- Southern Europe by France, Italy, Spain and Greece
- and Eastern Europe by the Czech Republic.
To compare and combine different research viewpoints and thereby paint a truly representative picture of the issues involved, partner complementarity was also taken into account.
Partners were chosen to represent:
- The car industry (LAB - Renault & PSA; ELASIS - Fiat; Volkswagen)
- Traffic Safety Research Institutes
- Universities
- Insurance companies
- Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME)
